Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas

Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas is an amazing animated adventure that features the best of two holidays -- Halloween and Christmas. This 1993 film quickly became a cult classic and with many devoted fans. The Nightmare Before Christmas is a multilayered story filled with one of a kind characters created by Tim Burton. Jack Skellington is the undisputed Pumpkin King of Halloweentown and is admired by all of the town.

Even after a stunning Halloween celebration, Jack begins to experience the post-holiday blues. He wanders through the forest all night until he comes to a crossroads with doorways to each of the most highly celebrated holidays. A tree trunk with a door and a drawing of a Christmas tree catches his eye. Jack opens the doorway and discovers the magic of Christmas Town.

Jack decides that the citizens of Halloween Town should take over Christmas. However things don't go quite as planned.

Danny Elfman wrote the songs and provides the voice for the main character. The film was directed by Henry Selick who later made the movie James and the Giant Peach.
